OUR STORY
A name for what we hope a vessel can bring.
sannhuu takes its name from the Chinese words for mountain and lake. A mountain suggests steadiness; a lake, openness and calm. The name expresses our wish to bring that sense of balance into the objects we use each day.
That idea draws us to Jingdezhen. Its porcelain offers a rich language of white surfaces, cobalt brushwork, coloured glazes, and carefully shaped forms. We want to bring that language closer to the way people live today.
Our starting point is the everyday tea table: the balance of a gaiwan, the feel of a cup’s rim, the space between a vessel and the hand that holds it. From tea vessels to table objects, we favour pieces that invite a closer look and feel natural to use.
We care about clear product information, thoughtful proportions, and the relationship between a piece and the life around it. The material, origin, technique, and care needs of each object should be understood on their own terms.
For us, porcelain gains meaning in ordinary moments: a cup of tea at a desk, a shared meal, a gift chosen with someone in mind. That is where we hope sannhuu will belong.
